Biography

Fran López is a Chilean director, producer, and screenwriter based in Mexico. She holds a degree in Acting from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an MFA in Film from Syracuse University, NY. She has created several fiction and stop-motion animated short films, including The Smell of the flowers which premiered at SANFIC. In 2022, she received the national audiovisual fund for re-writing a feature script. In 2025, she was invited to participate in Talents Guadalajara. She is currently developing the animated short film Bird’s that can’t fly and the fiction feature film The World’s saddest Whale.
