Mahiara Meret Sáenz Piña is a director and screenwriter focused on memory, trauma, and dark fantasy. In 2026, she represented Chile at JIIFF's Generación J (Uruguay), winning a New York Film Academy (NYFA) scholarship for her upcoming debut feature, La lengua de la Pampa.She is the director of the body horror short Hagiofobia (2026) , starring Sofía Chacón and Paula Dinamarca , known for her lead role in the Cannes-winning film The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo.
